If you follow our social media, you’ll know that every week we pick a dog that is taking a walk at Val-Kill to interview and make them our dog of the week. In honor of National Rescue Dog Day, we’ve collaborated with the Dutchess County SPCA to highlight a very special furry visitor at Val-Kill named Alfie, who is available for adoption!

Alfie is a 7-month-old mixed breed pup bursting with love and energy. He is playful and affectionate and ready to bring joy and laughter into his future family’s home! He’s very smart and already knows some basic commands like “sit” and “stay”, and he’s excited to learn more with continued training and structure. Alfie has lived with both cats and children and gets along with everyone, so he will fit in perfectly with any lively family home.

He’s a curious, high-energy dog who likes to get lots of exercise, playtime, and mental stimulation to stay happy and healthy! He had so much fun running around and sniffing all of the flowers at Val-Kill. Whether it’s playing fetch, hiking in the woods, or cuddling on the couch, Alfie is up for it all. He’s excited to have a loving family so he can grow into the best companion he can be!
