Who is eligible for GLW?
Applicants to the program must be between the ages of 14-16 years old during the duration of camp (July 2018) and will be selected based on their demonstrated leadership potential, commitment to community service and social justice, and their academic and extra-curricular achievements.
Where is the program held?
Girl's Leadership Worldwide is held at Eleanor Roosevelt Center at Val-Kill, located on the Eleanor Roosevelt National Historic Site in Hyde Park, New York. Participants to the program will also be spending time in New York City for career site visits, museum touring, and an advisory dinner, and touring President Franklin D. Roosevelts estate along the Hudson.
Who will be supervising my daughter while she is at camp and in New York City?
During a typical day, participants to the program will be supervised by their Group Leaders -a selectively hired group of girls, some of whom are themselves alumni of the program- who accompany the girls in every workshop and dorm alongside them at Vassar College. The Program Director will be present throughout the duration of the week, and on-call at all times. During the time spent in New York City, the girls and their Group Leaders will also be accompanied by chaperones from the ERVK advisory committee. A Heath-care specialist is also always on-call.
What is the ratio of Group Leaders to Participants?
Participants to the program are divided into smaller groups of eight per Group Leader. The ratio is thus 1 Group Leader : 8 Girls.
What are the session dates for 2018?
Session I: July 6th -14th
Session II: July 20th - 28th
What is the application deadline?

When will applicants be notified of acceptance into the program?
Applicants will be notified by May 5th
Is the $200.00 deposit refundable?
No. Upon acceptance into the program, a $200 non-refundable deposit is required to hold the applicant’s spot in the program. This fee will not be refunded if the applicant withdraws before the program start date.
